About
Lené Ehlers is an artist based in Paarl, South Africa.
She is known for her whimsical, dreamlike depictions of flowers in thick oil paint — blooms that feel imagined or symbolic, drawn from a rich inner world. Her distinct, muted colour palette enhances the ethereal atmosphere of her work. Inspired by beauty, the slow romance of the creative process, and the way emotions translate into colour, her paintings evoke a sense of being in a daydream.
Ehlers has held three solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group shows. She has deepened her practice through artist residencies in the French countryside and on a Greek island.
